Board awards $857,000 Foote Road culvert contract
Town Board · Meeting of July 13, 2026
NY ROYALTON — Royalton awards Foote Road culvert contract to Miller Construction. The Town Board unanimously authorized $857,000 for the project, awarding it to Miller Construction Services, Inc. d/b/a Scott Lawn Yard after the consulting engineer GHD recommended rejecting the apparent low bid from Blue Moon Portable Toilets on grounds of insufficient technical competence. In labor matters, the Board voted 3 to 1 to include the Deputy Town Clerk and Justice Clerks in a collective bargaining unit, with Councilman Walker opposing.
The Board also unanimously imposed 10-ton weight restrictions on four town roads and adopted three policies authorizing the Highway Department to distribute surplus materials, including wood chips, ditch dirt, and used culvert pipe, without charge to residents.
