Town Board approves highway hire at work session

NY ROYALTON — Town Board of Royalton approves new highway truck driver and resolves tax error. The work session Monday approved Kevin Ramming's hire as truck driver for the Highway Department effective April 8 and authorized a $1,217.31 refund to Stephanie Wrobel after Niagara County Treasurer objected to acceptance of a partial tax payment. Highway Superintendent Shawn Zglinicki reported spring preparation work is underway and all staff safety training is complete; the board discussed a potential salt shed grant covering 75 percent of the project with a maximum award of $380,000.

Water and Sewer Superintendent Brian Cummings reported the department will bid April 13 on the Jackson Street Water Project and is seeking quotes for horizontal directional drilling on County Line Road; the water plant's new UV system is operational.
