Royalton board adopts moratorium on utility energy storage systems

NY ROYALTON — Royalton approves nine-month moratorium on utility-scale electrical energy storage systems. The Town Board voted unanimously 5-0 at its January 12 meeting to adopt Local Law No. 1 for 2026, which also extends an existing moratorium on solar energy storage device installations. Supervisor Jeffrey M.

Brown and his four board members also authorized Water and Sewer Superintendent Brian Cummings to purchase a tractor and forks for $31,575 and approved claims totals of $56,443.64 for 2025 and $369,403.20 for 2026 across all town funds.
